Craft Workshop, Field and Fodder, Bearpark

We were asked by Chloe, creative entrepreneur at Field and Fodder, Aldin Grange in Bearpark, to convert an old dairy into a room to be used by a local craft business, https://www.colourbuzz.net/. Over the course of a month and a half, we took the project from sloping concrete floor, plastic sheeted walls, and draughty, cold room, to a luxurious, fully insulated workshop. We levelled the floor using treated timber, and built an internal stud wall all round the room, and added a new ceiling, with materials and design help from David Kyall at Arbor Timber, Langley Moor, Durham, and insulated it to keep out the cold (thanks MKM Dragonville, Durham). We worked with an electrician to add all new electrics for the plug and lights, and got the whole room plastered out. Eurocell, Dragonville, Durham, supplied the glazed double doors and new window, letting in lots of light to help Colourbuzz create wonderful things. The little alcove in the corner will have a sink and under counter fridge, with a beech worktop re-cycled from one of our kitchen re-furbs. Colourbuzz are in, and creating wonderful things in a warm, and vibrant space.
